Real Life With a Urostomy
My experiences, lessons, and adjustments after bladder cancer surgery — shared in the hope that something here might help someone else navigating the same path.
Why This Site Exists
This website is exactly what the name suggests — my experience living with a urostomy.
After bladder cancer surgery left me with a stoma and an external pouch, I quickly realized that most of the information available online explains the medical procedure, but very little talks about the day-to-day reality of living with one.
This site shares what that reality has looked like for me.
Everything here comes from personal experience — the things that worked, the things that didn’t, and the small systems I developed along the way to make life easier.
Every person’s medical situation is different, and what works for me may not work for everyone. My hope is simply that somewhere in these stories you might find one or two ideas that help make your own journey a little easier.
